Jet Li of course he is one of the greatest martial art actors and another great one is Jackie Chan too, but Jason Statham isn't bad eather he is pretty good actually and I like his movies too, but Jet Li and Jason Statham are in so different kind of movies so it's hard to compare... I can't believe the West still clings to their myth about mines that look like toys. Only the American right could think of something so sick. The only time one has ever been caught on film is Rambo III. What did impress me about this film though, was that is showed that the USA didn't give a damn about Afghanistan's future. They just wanted to look good politically. Look at the endless hell the "freedom fighters" unleashed in Afghanistan which has yet to end.

This movie is totally one-sided; the mini-landmines coloured like children's toys were terrible, but so was the hideous treatment meted out to captured Russian soldiers. There is virtually no attempt to understand the conflict from the Soviet side. That said, Leonid Brezhnev was a fool for invading; he should have read Winston Churchill's memoirs. We couldn't make the Pashtuns into peaceful colonials, the USSR couldn't make them into good communists, and I doubt NATO will make them democrats.

I guess paranoia isn't the right word to use. But I don't think that its valid to justify the war by saying that "all of the limbs and lives given so far would be for jack s**t." If that's our state of mind, we're essentially doomed, because such an argument is based on the assumption that damage inflicted JUSTIFIES continuing to inflict such damage.... If that makes sense. FYI, I have nothing against you as an individual, and especially not because you fought the war.
